for christmas my daughter emma got a simple card game called "whiz kids". the premise with the game is to name items that begin with a chosen letter. two decks of cards are used, one with things to name, and one with letters. each letter has a different point value. the person with the most points after the cards are all gone wins.
it's a surprisingly difficult game. i made it especially difficult on myself by trying to name things that emma would know of.
the game took a turn for the worse early on when my daughter drew the card "a part of the human body" along with the letter "V". i was actually surprised that my dirty mind took a minute o to come up with an answer. i obviously passed my turn.
a few rounds later i drew the card "something grown-ups do" along with the letter "S". i chuckled and decided on "skiing". emma came up with "soccer". not exactly something only grown-ups do, but i let it slide.
with the dirty items out of the way, i drew the card "something you get embarrassed about" with the letter "I". it might be a stretch, but i came up with "indigestion".
one of the last rounds provided one of the funniest moments of the game. i drew the card "something in the room" along with the letter "E". i immediately shot my hand up and yelled "emma!". i asked emma if she knew of one and she sheepishly looked down at the ground and said, "embarrassment".
