four things (times ten): an approximation

Tuesday, October 23, 2007 2:26 AM
rachel tagged me with a meme awhile back, and i've now just gotten around to working on it.  mostly because it's 2am and my toe and thigh are killing me from my two playoff soccer games tonight.  i don't usually like to do these types of things, unless some brilliantly hilarious comments can be made, but since i haven't posted in awhile (due to lack of topics and the constant badgering from my buddy tr), i figured i would.

four jobs i've had
1) chocolate store grunt.  for a guy that doesn't like chocolate, working in a chocolate store in a perfect fit, right?  not quite.  it was high school and was my first job that my friend tricia got me.  she babysat the owner's kids and i got to stock shelves and make chocolate covered pretzels.  i also got to wear a pink shirt.  and work for a divorced woman who wasn't too fond of men.  i also wasn't allowed to make the "adult" candy, yet i was allowed to watch them pull them from the molds.  makes sense, i know.

2) microfilmer.  i had a work study job in college in the same department that my mother worked in.  one of the projects they had was to digitize all the old records.  so i got to stand in front of a microfilmer, place a piece of paper, press a button and repeat.  i did have my own radio back there in the record racks, but apparently i had it too loud a lot of the time.

3) paper shredder.  in my later years of college, i moved to another department for work study.  this time i got to destroy records.  i sat in a spare room shredding piece after piece of paper.  every 15 minutes or so, the shredder would heat up and stop working.

4) a person who ties grape vines.  i couldn't figure out what the proper term is, but one year i worked for a local farmer and tied the grape vines to the wires on the posts so they would grow up nice and all and straight and stretch out across the wires.

four films i could watch over and over
1) the usual suspects (kevin spacey is without a doubt my favorite actor)
2) super troopers (even rachel admitted it the was the best movie ever made)
3) office space
4) memento

four places i have lived
1) thorntown, indiana.  i was born here and moved away at age 2 when my parents divorced.

2) harborcreek, pennsylvania.  the majority of my live was spent here.  from age 2 until age 24.  same house too.

3) erie, pennsylvania.  bought a house just inside the city limits and it is where i currently reside.

4) clymer, new york.  i haven't technically lived here, but i own approximately 13 acres of property.  currently just a wooded area with a small creek, but plans are to build and reside out there if the finances all work out.

four favorite tv shows
1) it's always sunny in philadelphia.  you just have to watch it.   "day man... fighter of the night man!" and "i will smash your face into a jelly!" are now permanently in my daily vernacular.

2) the office.  both the us and uk versions are just awesome.

3) the big bang theory.  a new show on cbs which despite the nerdy talk, is quite hilarious.

4) the it crowd.  a show from the uk which i have to scrounge around on youtube to watch.  well worth it though... more geeky humor.

four favorite foods (minus two)
1) jimmy z's honey cajun chicken wings.  the best in erie, without a doubt.  second wing favorite wings:  quaker steak & lube's louisiana lickers (flavor only, their wing size really blows).

2) smith's hot dogs.  what do you mean there are other hot dogs out there?  a little ketchup, some mustard, and some onions and i'm a happy happy guy.

four websites i visit everyday
1) gmail
2) erieblogs.com blogbrowser
3) flickr
4) thesuperficial / wwtdd / withleather

four places i would love to be (minus 3)
1) anywhere with my daughter.  cliche, perhaps, but it's true.  there's not a thing i wouldn't do if i could be with her all the time.  and i'm not just saying this to get the "awww, how sweet" comments either.  you name it, i'd do it.  IF it meant i could be with my daughter all the time (well, minus the time she's at school).

four favorite colors (minus 3)
1) penn state blue.  i guess you'd have to include white as well.

four names i love but would/could not use for my children
1) stuart
2) jesper
3) marie
4) emma (it's taken by the most wonderful girl in the world already)

four people to tag (minus 1)
1) michael
2) eden (that is if the fame hasn't gone to her head and she forgot about us little people)
3) brandy

BTW: "Stuart" is on my list as well. I tried to convince Hawk about it but he wouldn't go for it. I'll use it for a character instead ;) 10/23/2007 12:37 PM | Eden
