on friday, a friend by the name of "t-pappa" contacted me with a little "spot the differences" quiz.  let's see if you can figure it out as well...

first up is a screenshot from the website of young erie professionals.


next up is a job listing on monster.com for a sales person at a bank in north carolina.  the listing has been removed (today is saturday).



so, can you find the similarities?  and how about the differences?  see any big, glaring differences between the two?  yeah, it's a big one.

i was thinking that this was just your basic stock photo, and that one of the two companies made some modifications to it.  however, unconfirmed reports indicate that the two blonde women attended a local college for graduate and undergraduate classes.  looking at the photograph longer, i recognized the guy in the middle as a guy i played soccer against.

so was this a photograph that was taken by the creators of the young erie professionals website and then reused (perhaps illegally) by the company on monster.com?

it'd be interesting to see the original photograph and see who added/removed the missing people, who if you didn't notice by now, are african-american.  is there a hidden meaning behind the modifications?  did yep add minorities to the photograph, or did the company in nc remove them?

and here's a hilarious, satirical quote from a co-worker of mine after seeing this:
"Yep is more diverse. You can tell by the photoshopped black people. I wouldn't take the sales job for that other company because they are racist.  They didn't take the time to photoshop any black, Asian or Latin people into their pictures. I bet that is why they are offering $200K for the sales job.  Because no one wants to work for a racist."

Hey, are you still saying I'm racist, ron? *sigh* I'll never live this one down...
